When you lot think near living in the country, you call back peaceful and serene.  Yous movie existence surrounded by nature without a care in the world.  But, is it really all it'south cracked up to be?  Today I'm going to exist talking all about the countryside, and the pros and cons of living rural.

all about the countryside

I've lived in all kinds of environments – cities, small towns, and in the country.  There really are perks with each, even so my favorite place to alive is in the state.  Given my blog name, I'm sure that's no surprise to y'all!

But, living in the country isn't all roses and sunshine every unmarried moment.  There are some days that are hard.  In that location are some days that I know would exist easier if I lived closer to amenities.

Thankfully, the pros outweigh the cons to me in state living.  Simply honestly, it'south actually personal preference and what'due south of import to you when it comes to the best place you and your family should alive.  Let'southward dive into the good AND the bad near the countryside.

PROS Almost LIVING IN THE State

Information technology's quiet and peaceful.

Some people love the fizz of the city.  Me? I love to sit down out in my backyard and hear admittedly zippo but the birds or the wind swaying through the copse.

If you dear a quiet surroundings, the country is a perfect place to live.  No audio of constant traffic and there isn't people everywhere.  Yous don't frequently hear sirens or structure.

When I need to be alone with my thoughts, when my center feels heavy considering the news is all bad, I go outside and take in a sunset in utter serenity, or I walk down my road and soak in all that is around me in the peaceful moment.

For my heart, the quiet and peacefulness is perfect.

Information technology gives you many outdoor opportunities.

Country properties brand it easy to exercise things outdoors like take bonfires, commencement a garden, raise some animals, go atving, and more!  There is no limit to all the things yous tin can do in the country!

Fifty-fifty if you don't take the means to exercise everything yous desire on your belongings, often you tin can find it close past.  If you live in the country yous may exist closer to a lake for fishing, canoeing, or swimming.  Or you lot may live close to trails to go hiking and exploring.  There's definitely enough to practice in the state that you won't find yourself bored!

You might save money.

When I lived in the urban center there wasn't much we could do that was free.  We often spent weekends shopping, going out to eat, or going to the cinema.  On acme of that, there was the convenience of being able to hop to the store whenever we felt similar it, or wanted a late night snack (and for foodies similar us, that's a serious temptation we struggled to avoid!)

When you lot live in the country many things you desire to do, like I listed in a higher place, are costless.  Besides, information technology isn't convenient to simply run to the store.  Y'all aren't going to run to the grocery shop at 9:00 at nighttime merely considering you experience similar a snack when it takes you 30 minutes to get in that location.

You acquire to improvise, be prepared, and only cease spending as much coin as when you had piece of cake access to the stores.

Too, yous may salvage money on housing as information technology is ofttimes cheaper in the country if it's further enough away from the urban center.

It helps you slow down your life.

Life is busy no matter where you live these days, but there's a certain type of "slowness" in the country that isn't equally easy to attain in the city.  For u.s. we really limit extra-curriculars that the kids are involved in or fifty-fifty commitments nosotros make ourselves considering it takes a lot longer to drive anywhere.  We moved to the state to ENJOY the land and not to spend all our time driving effectually.

There'southward a dissimilar kind of civilisation.

One of my favorite things I loved when we moved to the country is the way people loved to invite others over for a meal, or our church did the good ole' fashioned potlucks.  In fact, since moving to the country I have simply went out to eat at a eating house a few times (and we've been here three years!)  Of form, our family goes out to eat considering we savour it, just the culture out in the land is more of inviting someone into your home to share a meal instead of going out to the restaurants.  Let'due south not forget how this saves you cash equally well. 🙂

It's an introvert'southward dream

If you are an introvert the state can be a dream for you.  I in one case was an extrovert only over the years changed into an introvert and I take to say, I very much enjoy being alone.  I practise savor hanging out with my friends, simply I am pretty content to be solitary likewise.  Living in the country gives me more time to be on my ain (of course, when I say on my own, I mean with my three kids, cause, when you are a mom are you ever really lonely?

BUT, LIKE I SAID, IT'S NOT ALL ROSES AND SUNSHINE.  Allow'S Exist Existent Here AND Await AT THE CONS OF LIVING IN THE Land.

CONS ABOUT LIVING IN THE Land

None.

But kidding. 🙂

It takes more time and gas money to go anywhere.

Driving anywhere in the state seems to accept fourth dimension and extra gas money.  Our closest stores to drive to are only 15 minutes away merely they are tiny, small town stores that oft don't have what nosotros need so we drive to the closest urban center which is xl minutes abroad.  We knew by living in the country we'd have to be okay with the long distances to become anywhere and everywhere.

When we starting time moved out here we only had one vehicle which meant when my married man was at piece of work I couldn't go anywhere, and then that can be an result also if y'all are a one vehicle family.  Nosotros know take two vehicles and I gotta say, it's really squeamish to take when you live in the country.

There'due south a different civilisation out here.

Look, Amanda, didn't you lot just put this in the pros? Well, yes I did. Simply it can be a pro or a con, depending on your personality.  If y'all love fast-paced, and enjoy hanging out in the restaurants with your friends, well, then you might not enjoy the country every bit much if you can't observe anyone to exercise those things with.

Services accept longer to exit here.

When it snows our road is ane of the last to encounter a snow plow.  When the power gets knocked out our expanse is one of the last on the priority list.  When I'm expecting a parcel it often gets delayed because it's the last one on the route and didn't make information technology in time, or they decide they don't fifty-fifty want to come out this far and call me to accommodate a selection-up instead.

Oh, and speaking of the power going out, if you accept no power your toilets don't affluent.  That'southward fine for an hour or 2, but later 30 hours of no power, things get pretty dicey.  (Enquire me how I know.)

We've learned to wait things accept longer out here.  Information technology's just the way it is.

Slow internet – need I say more?

One of the major frustrations in this day and age is slow net in the country.  Many of us use the internet for more than than simply pleasure.  We utilize it for work.  Our kids utilize information technology for school.  And then the boring net is no longer a minor inconvenience, it actually affects some pretty important stuff.

It can exist alone.

If y'all dear connecting with people, so living in the state can be alone.  Heck, there can be times living in the country is lonely fifty-fifty for introverts who dear being alone.  You definitely have to make a bigger attempt to connect with others when y'all live in the country.

IS THE COUNTRYSIDE Correct FOR YOU?

Now that we've talked all virtually the countryside, the pros and cons, the question is – is it right for you?  Well, just you tin can answer that.  While I adore the country and plan to  live out here as long as I am physically able, I have friends who would just never be happy living in the country, and that's okay.  We're all different with unique personalities.  It would be pretty boring if we were all the same.

I do think, however, that we need to be careful non to romanticize state living without e'er considering the negatives.  Every kind of life comes with some hardship and yous take to decide what kind of trials you lot can live with.

Ultimately I believe the country is a peaceful, wonderful place and even if y'all tin't see yourself living there, maybe you lot can enjoy getting away from it all and taking a holiday in the country.
